Culture of Fear

Third year free project. My brief was to create a stand alone piece on the subject of fear in modern society. How it affects us and how it can be used against us. I decided to base my design around a poetry book, with poems of my making, on the subject of fear.

The idea was to use poetry and imagery to convey what a modern day paranoid man would feel and see. The binding and the design had to be in line with this so as to make it look like a personal diary or scrapbook. On the left pages you can see images of everyday life, as you finish reading the poem and turn the transparent pages, those images are altered so as to show what a paranoid person would see. Instead mediums of transport, potential artefacts of destruction, instead of regular people, potential terrorists…etc.
